Kind of weird with the watergate 4040 , you surely sounded better on my end then the watergate presented ? I wasn't kidding , Wilson 1000 magmount on a steel metal table 15 ft up on my patio off a 89 Philly 148 and stock mic ,
So. Cal . to San Fran , DX has a way of truly being amazing at times , but SSB can make all the differance (on my part) with no power involved. In the beginning I sounded locked in , but the bassiness of your sound , I kept trying to tune you in better , in turn took me slightly higher.
All in all , I was pretty amazed with what I was talking to you on. That 2000 was smoke'in dude , SSB can take a little practice if AM has been your main source of operations. I could see you kind of had your AM sound going on with SSB , I didn't think to ask you what kind of mic you were on ? With all you got going for you , a simple 600 ohm stock mic would kick ass on SSB on your 2000 , We were basically talking on the same radios. (chassies) they are well known for there superiour SSB capabilities , as well as TX and RX.
Good deal 4040 , nice hook'in up with you again, I believe it was 2 years or so the last time. Always a pleasure dude. Happy Holidays to you and yours and a good New Year to come. Thanks for the WG. Peace ....SK
