If you're in the market for a nice meter for mobile use, the Palstar PM2000AM is one to look at. Aside from the convienence of the remote sensor, the needle movement on peak mode is fast enough for tuning without having to switch to average mode. The only thing that would make this better is it had a 30 watt power scale. It has 300 and 3000. I usually tune with 20 watts so it's still useful for mobile tuning.


The Ameritron I mentioned above has a 100 and 1000 watt scale so it's better for lower wattage tuning and has a nice smaller footprint than the Palstar. The needle movement is slow on peak mode so  it needs to be on average for tuning.
