First have you checked the radio and amplifier seperatly for issues? Have you checked each jumper and the final run of coax on a your VOM? Have you checked the antenna and all mounts and stud's? It only takes one intermittent continuity issue to ruin your day. I have seen hardline migration issues where the foam insulator versus center conductor have shifted or melted or just broken down over time. The problem was intermittent or only occurred with one piece of coax. The problem was not obvious issue just caused a small bump in SWR that could not be explained. The devil is int he details something has changed either with your set up or the measuring equipment you are using. Have you checked this reading with someone else measuring equipment or have you tested your equipment to make sure it is operating correctly?

I do not do keydown stuff so I have no idea how fighting sticks are made but all antenna have potential trouble spots internally especially where anything is grounded or insulated from another part. Any spot to parts meet is again another potential trouble spot.

I hope my post makes you think about something minor you might be over looking.
