What do you want from your radio? Simple 40 ch cheap radio? Or do you want a few toys in it like echo and talkback?

IIRC you want SSB , and i'm gonna go out on a limb and ass-u-me you want frequency stability and clean ears . i would have voted , but you didn't have "other" as a option .

Am olny most have Fm prob. wont use it. Loud clear audio Talk back, echo dual control, Variable or Hi low power. Dual final 40+ watts Dimmer for the lights if possible. I like haveing a larger meter roger beep don't matter.
I have a 2950DX for base use in the shack with Texas star DX350 HDV also the newest Magnum S45HP for base use. Wanted mobil radio for the work truck and allways wanted a General but Stryker is 169.95 at H&YDX 44HP
got to call and see if he charges to convert and tune, but all the radios were under the 200.00 mark with internal variable power.
Thanks

Since you aren't going to need FM or extra channels and don't have a ham license; why do you bother with these radios? A Cobra 25/29, a Uniden PC-76/78, or a Galaxy 919/929 will cost far less and deliver.

Seems that you are trying to buy more radio than you need - IMO . . .

The same reason most of my coworkers have exports. MO POWA. They never leave the standard 40 and a few still believe that SSB equals 80 additional channels.

Don't know much about that Striker Grogan, but I will say that where you buy is as important as what you buy. This shop will be inside your new radio, and you want someone you can trust.

I know people like the General Lee, and you can pick one up from DTB and it will be done right. And the ones I have hear on the air sound great. That's my vote.

I have a ham license, And I use it mostly 10 meter ssb on the 2950 with or without the TS amp.I also talk 2 meter and 440. Hand held olny at this time.Just looking for a am powerhouse with toys for a reasonable price with internal power. for the work Van. for a simple instalation thats eaisly removed with my mag mount wilson 1000. Want internal power. or would consider cobra 29 etc. Dont want to do a mooded 29 with rfx 70 something stock with a little kick ass.

Stryker 440 HP Review

Now the pole is starting to get interesting, I thought the Lee would get High rateings, I know one guy who owns a stryker. and at this time its tie with the Galaxy. I thought the Gen Lee and the connex were the same except on feature or so but The Lee is winning out. I would like to see about ten more votes.
Thank you Guys

Found a RCI 2950DX for 175.00 -(used), my tech lined it out for twenty bucks! This is the most versatile and adjustable radio I've ever seen.

I have a 2950 also Love it for SSB and ten meters,I also use a Magnum S45HP for Mostly Am has a lot of features for am fun.( also great and stable for SSB) Both great radios.Stock mic left side of magnum RK-56 on right side 2950 has a D104M6B on it now, I have a silver eagle for it also, but I like useing hand mics for some strange reason?
