Tap-a-Talk app notifications being a PITA.

Anybody else getting hammered with notifications that this forum has a Tap-a-talk app available when using their Smartphone? I know a lot of you do use the app but I am wondering about those who do not and simple browse into the site from a mobile device. First off I do NOT have it or use it. I prefer to simply browse into the site just like at home on the computer and only occasionally have I gotten a notice when logging in here on my phone. Simply clicking CANCEL and it goes away and that is the end. All day today whenever I tried to login here on my phone that damn notice kept popping up with only two options....Cancel or ACCEPT. Clicking ACCEPT of course took me to the Google Play Store to get the app and CANCEL closed the notification but also canceled loading of the website. I could not get logged in at all from the phone. Hitting REFRESH simple made the notification pop up again. I have never had this happen before and hope it does not continue as it is a real pain in the ass.

I'm on my phone right now and getting no notifications. I have TapaTalk but I don't care for it and haven't used it in a year or more.

One thing I do though, is click "keep me logged in" or whatever that check box says. That keeps me from appearing as a guest before I log in because I'm logged in automatically.

I use my iPhone's web browser. Tried tap a talk but don't like it. The only time tap a talk pops up is when I erase my cookies and I opt out of using Tap a talk but I also have to login again.

I use tap talk off and on while at work. No notifications for me.

I'm a heavy Tapatalk user. I don't get notifications from this site, but I get repeated notifications from other sites.

I used to get a pop-up (whether signed in or not) each time I opened the forum on my phone saying tapatalk was available and you could either "cancel" or "download" (or something like that). Today without being signed in, bringing up the forum got me a tapatalk pop up, but the two choices were "open in app" or "accept". Actually three choices. I chose the "X" in the upper right corner of the message box, the pop-up went away and the forum opened. After signing in and re-opening the forum in another session, I got no tapatalk pop up at all.

I normally stay logged in all the time as well but when I came here on my phone yesterday I had to log in again for some reason. that's when the damn notifications kept popping up on me. I could care less about tap-a-Talk and do not want it but keep getting hammered with the notifications. Last night I did manage to log in but with every page load or refresh the notification popped up making it nearly impossible to surf the site. this morning the same thing. Frustrating as hell.

Problem solved. I somehow set the phone to not accept cookies. :blush: Turned that function back on and made this post from my phone without ever seeing that Tap-a-Talk pop up. All is good again. I was worried I would not be able to get on here on my two upcoming nightshifts starting tomorrow. I need something to keep me busy all night long.

Glad you fixed it. I have no problems here. I tried tap-a-talk, and didn't like it either. To me it is like eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with all the ingredients except the bread, the peanut butter, and the jelly.

Sometimes certain webpages on my mobile or tablet devices load incorrectly like your problems. What I do is soft key and check the box desktop mode which 99.9% solves my website issues. I only use android devices so can't speak for the iCrap users.

My phone is android as well. No I-crap for me either. The cookie issue was my problem.
