Texas Star dx100

"2 watt carrier with peak power @ 20 watts max."

with the "LOW AM" switch (IN) engaged.

In the early days there was some confusion on what to label this button "LOW AM" which was actually designed to pad the input with a 100 ohm resistor when SSB was used. Pressing the button in also engaged the SSB delay cap which is very annoying on AM. On later models the orange "LOW AM" button was switched out to a yellow "SSB" button.

So for AM mode you would leave the "LOW AM" button (OUT) and in for SSB operation.

2 watt carrier with peak power @ 20 watts max.

Hooked it up to a 50 ohm dummy load, loud buzz in amp when keyed? Bad or stuck relay? With a 2 watt carrier from the radio, the buzz seems to get louder with modulation. Anyone one familiar with this problem?
