I ended my last column by saying that I had purchased an Alinco DR-135 transceiver with a built-in TNC (Terminal Node Control, in this case a Tasco Radio Modem) and that all of my difficulties with packet radio had disappeared. Oh boy. Was that ever an optimistic statement.
