Return of the shameless plug department.
Turns out molasses does flow in January. Just not in any kind of hurry. Finally got enough "round tuits" to build a batch of our Peel 'N Stick carrier control for AM-only radios like the Cobra 25, 29, Uniden PC76,78, President Dwight D, Zachary T and such.
Took long enough. It's posted on fleabay, at a price that probably won't make it terribly popular. It's just ebay-nomics. No cheap way to sell anything there. And not enough eyeballs to sell it elsewhere. Not yet, at least. But that's what you pay for on their, er "platform", is lots and lots of eyeballs.

A face only a mother could love, but it's functional.
It comes with a high-strength adhesive foam to hold it in place. VHB is used by sign shops. I'm told it's pro-grade stuff. Heat tends to cure the adhesive bond rather than weaken it like the drug-store stuff from a pegboard hook
Fits neatly plastered to the heat sink above the (removed) jumper wire.
Has to have a ground wire to make the minimum-carrier trimpot function.
The price reflects the labor to build and test it. Yeah, not a lot to go wrong in a gadget this dirt-simple, but if you can't make it work, you did something wrong. It worked gator-clipped to my test radio.
I should probably work out a cheaper deal to sell direct. Just hope the fleabay police don't catch me. Pretty sure the terms of service forbid you to undercut the fleabay price with a direct sale. But it's been 23 years since I read that stuff. Might not be remembering it just right.
The only thing that justifies the price is the labor saved by attaching 3 wires, unbolting the SWR Cal pot and installing the new one. Made it as quick to install as I could. Gets the customer turned around, out the door and paid up efficiently.
And if I had stupid money I'd hire a chinese outfit to build it with surface mount for about five bucks. Not any time soon.
