for aldo's turkeys on a roll 100 countrys is their goal,

100 countries thats no stroll but still a far cry from the bowl,

the bowl you say whats that about, its just a place they scream and shout through hetrodynes they punch with clout,

you wont get called if your a duck and if you do its just pot luck,

for us in yorkshire heres our goal 100 contacts on the bowl,

anything less and your a duck with alpha tango's you are stuck,

dx conditions they will pickup get on the bowl and try your luck,

best of all the bowl is free no paying ALDO any fee,

theres prime and meanpill and the rest you really need to give your best,

to hear these stations at their best go wideband AM get a flex,

your best is likely not enough with clarince carter things are tough,

so if you think your not a duck go work the bowl go try your luck,

the rest is easy DUCK dx on empty channels just like the rest,

you got the power and got the flex that still dont mean your with the best,

to be the best you lock it down while others try take your crown,

one hundred countries you aint IT when on the bowl that dont mean shit,

no qsl cards off to fly the watergates dont let you lie,

so there it is its time to move to .025 to show and prove,

I know Aldo and his Groupo Radio Italia take a lot of slams but he/they have done more to promote 11 meter DX than any other organization

i was not really bashing at's some of them are ok people though there is a long running feud with them and the groupe of guys i talked to over 555 been the dx call frequency,
it never was back in the day,
the international call freq was 455,
people whined about us using 455 for local chat while we waited for dx,
we moved to 525 and low and behold over time they where whining about that so we moved to 555 and everything was sweet for a while,
then the at's came along and decided that was going to be their club call freq and the battle began,
we are not moving anywhere for anybody a 3rd time,

i scribbled the non rhyming rhyme just to wind up a good friend that has recently come back from ham radio to work dx on 11mtrs since they dropped the licencing over here and meant no offence against american AT members,

after years of arguing with aldo's turkeys hes gone and joined them the turncoat lmao,

i am currently fixing up an old cobra export parts radio for him and he wants to build his own small class AB amplifier,

he has real radio gear but wants to return to basics with a cb radio and try for 100+ confirmed countries with an old cb just like the old days,

i told him he needs a shitty class c amplifier a cb thats off frequency and out of alignment with the carrier offsets plus a base mic cranked up and he must borrow some kids to make a racket in the background while hes scratching away calling dx and ignoring or whining at none alpha tango members if he truly wants to be authentic,

that may not be how it sounds from where you are but that is the reality of how it was back in the day over here,

just how many times would a groupe move their call freq just because some other club started up and decided they were having your call freq as their own,

we are staying put, nobody has any claim on 555 its illegal for us all,

now if the whole of europe decided that your ch6 ( the bowl ) ch11( the railroad tracks ) or ch28 was gonna be their call freq what chance is there that americans would cow down and move or ignore the constant whining telling you to
QSY this is ALPHATANGO call frequency QSY no make talk on call frequency QSY,,, CQ CQ ALPHATANGO MEMBERS ONLY QRZ ???,

many europeans feel that AT's never promoted anything but their own clubs interests though that may or may not be unfounded,

me personally i dont care one way or another i have been out there in dx since way before the AT'S tried to monopolise 555 and i do my own thing,
the banter and genuine arguing is just part and parcel of radio including top band and 80mtrs,

i will say this,
any club that allows their members to come out on ssb dx with class C amplifiers crapping on nearby channels or allows them to ignore none club members will never get an ounce of respect from me period :!: but that does not mean i bear them any malice its just cb radio
