Just keep it to the point please!
Everybody guages 'ease' with the amount of personal bother vs gain.
If it were me doing a extended freq's to this radio, I would probably just use a dial detent and use three reference oscillator crystals and broadband the receive.
But the other way has its cool points; so long as it makes the radio worth more if done cleanly.
