Things To Consider Shipping Parcel Post Right Now

Parcel Post, the cheapest shipping at the P O, is running slow right now. Just this week I had 1 package coming to me and 1 that I sent both take 15 days to make it to their destinations.

The PO is undergoing heavy reorganization right now. Small offices are having their delivery operations merged into nearby larger offices and some branch stations are being closed altogether. They've been shedding employees and more cuts to come.

Much of this is in the news but my wife works there so I'm getting first hand information on many of the changes.

My advice is to get INSURANCE if your parcel is worth $40 or more. Minimum insurance is $50 so a $40 item plus mailing fee, Delivery Confirmation and insurance will easily hit $50. This way if the PO loses your package you'll get your money back and that includes the mailing fees and all costs. You get it ALL back.

I would further get the insurance on a $40 + item no matter how you send it, even Priority Mail. The insurance is cheap and you won't lose any money that way. You can always tell / require your buyer's that you are going to get insurance.

I shipped a package 2 weeks prior parcel post and it made the trip in 2 days which I find excellent and the longest was 4 working days, now you can't complain about that.

If you want something from me it will only go USPS.

That is just one of many reasons why I stay with UPS and stay away from USPS.
I know everyone has their favorite service and have had different experiences with them but USPS and FedEx have cost me money in the past. UPS has not.
Next opinion?

Brown like you are bad natured when it comes to my packages.

LMAO at Mack. It has got to be related to the region, terminal, employees or something more mysterious.

Maybe GLR will chime in and clear it all up for us.
