March 2013 - first widow maker, left me in a coma.

March 2019 - second widow maker.

April 2025 - third widow maker. Was arguing with the town drunk on the radio when this one happened.

Notice something? It's exactly every 6 years I have another one.

Still here and walking around.

Glad you are ok. Wish my Elmer was still around, but he went SK as of 2022 from a widow maker. :/

Sorry to hear that, Hawkeye. I hope you recover quickly and make the necessary changes to prevent the possible 2031 event. I won't say you're lucky, but I will say that you are blessed. Most don't survive 1 of those, much less 3. God bless you friend. We will be praying for you.

No more arguing for me. Stress caused one of my stints to close 100%. Not allowing myself to go through that again. Let them argue with themselves, no one around here believes a word he says anyway, everyone knows he's just an instigator that likes to get drunk and stir up arguments just for his drunken enjoyment. Can't believe I allowed myself to fall for it.

Don't second guess yourself about the arguing, you mostly thought like I would. With that mic in your hand you temporarily forgot about all the illogical BS going on around us today and you were enjoying the time using the radio that you setup and tuned with your skill and time. You were enjoying time on the air and trying to avoid the chaos he creates on the air.

Glad you pulled through!

Funny how drunks and potty mouth ignorant fools always find a radio and often a decently powerful amp.

I remember back in the day when we had local "nets" and they where actively policed there where many a times 10-15 good ol boys hoped in trucks and paid a visit to agitaters drunk or not. If it got to bad then when the FCC came to town tons of people would report the person.

In real life I stoped argueing with fools in my thirties the secnd time I went back to college. It just was not worth it.
