This auction looks suspicious

From the link above:

"THiS amp i now on the special order on "ALL web" site not just mine due to the lack off

transistors but you can place your order with me no need to call I can have one amplifier built just for you

and its not siting around and it tack 2-3 weeks or more than it well be ship to you coming from .galaxy radios

one of the best amps ever made thank for your understanding,,"

The spelling and syntax here is enough to scare me off. I don't buy anything from someone that does not have the sense to at least try to keep from looking like an illiterate on his website.

I guess if you remove the case to convert the amp, there is no warranty.

Anybody notice the lack of feedback? I would not buy any thing from a vendor with bad syntax and a low transaction count.

You are right about the warranty. They want you to pay them for the modifications and then the warranty might still be suspect.

Wow! Money laundering! I never would've thought of that but it's definitely a possibility . Isis, radicals or maybe cartels. It sucks to think chicken banders or any unknowing citizens might be supporting these animals. I wonder how much money laundering goes on through ebay? I hope the government's got it's eyes on certain EBay sellers but, knowing how inept our government is it wouldn't surprise me if that sort of thing is running rampant on eBay.
if you look at their other listing, they are all too high for what they are.
probably money laundering.

I believe the Ebay police will pull this amp soon anyhow...

Ebay rules on amplifiers are generally the same as found in part FCC rules 95.
Problem is Ebay rules are for everybody whether you have a FCC license or not. I had a old Texas star amp listing pulled and was given a warning even though I have a license and the amp I listed was "for parts only not working"

Ebay rules on amplifiers;

Policy overview
Certain electronics equipment, such as equipment prohibited by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), can't be listed on eBay. For example, cell, GPS and other signal jamming devices are not allowed. eBay also doesn't allow the sale of products that are mainly intended to record the conversations or activities of others without them knowing

CB amplifiers: Examples of items that aren't allowed include:
  • CB amplifiers

  • Amplifiers specified for use on the 11-meter band, including the 10/11 meter band

  • Amplifiers designed for use in frequencies 24 MHz to 35MHz

  • Amplifiers posted within the CB category
