Update - wasn't my fault after all.
Seller sold me dash 2 model while stating was 450-490 mhz but that's NOT a dash 2. Dash 2 does 485 - 512 mhz ..... totally unusable for GMRS and not discovered until 4 hours of attempted programming and out of reasons why I finally looked carefully at the label.
