I started a new thread as the last one got away from me. Im following the alignment procedure in the Owners Instruction Manual.
I checked all the Synthesizer Pin Voltage Chart, the only small issue I see is Pin 6. Pin 6 shows the 2.3 volts in crystal mode but in mAnual I’m only seeing 2.0 volts.
4 MHz Calibration went perfect
20 MHz Calibration not so good.
My hookup is volt meter on Clarifier set to 4.75 vdc
Agilent 53131A hooked up using a short 16” bnc to alligator clip test lead.
Radio on specified crystal channel
Frequency Counter on J100B (tried with J100B plugged in and unplugged no difference in issue)
I had pulled the board and checked all the trimmers C126 to C137 and all solder held and trimmer turns properly.
I’m seeing a frequency on all channels and settings as follows and trimmer makes no frequency change.
1 AM 20.709.485.00
1 USB 20.709.251.00
5 AM 20.753.836.00
5 USB 20.760.709.00
9 AM 20.808.888.00
9 USB 20.810.815.00
13 AM 20.858.666.00
13 USB 20.861.483.00
you get the idea.

Any suggestions on what may be causing me not to be able to see a frequency change when adjusting C126 too C137?

A closer look with a brighter light and better magnification at the screw head of those 8 trimmers will reveal the broken solder bond. The slotted head turns, but the ceramic disc under it stays put.

That's what I have found the last hundred times I had this problem.

Ok I will take a magnified look next, if they aren’t able to be soldered back is there a replacement available for them?

Thank you
