Tram or 10K????/

Nice video and a nice camera that you used...

You are running these Tram's in a cophase arrangement? I thought they were too close together for that kind of thing? What do I know - I'm guessing!

Have you had a chance to use your setup during skip? How was the reception? Are you running a linear amp or barefoot?

All my 10-k's have a allen head set screw to lock the 3/8x24 stud at the bottom, I haven't purchased a 10-k in years so things might have changed.

Tram makes decent stuff so I would not have a problem buying from then other than loyalty towards Kale.

Same as the answer made on the forum this was 'borrowed' from.

Not enough difference between them to make any difference, so what's the difference other than price? The 'name' on it? I got a magicmarker, I can put any name I want on one. Saves a lot of money that way.

where is the TRAM made? If indeed the only difference is what is outlined in the video, not that I would buy either, but if I were in the market I would probably choose to support the USA made for the 20 buck premium...

There's one thing that stands out in that video that makes me lose all faith in anything that guy says.

I won't spoil it for everyone else though, watch it closely and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Yeah it's not on the market yet but he so happened to aquire that one for testing purposes.

Someone was paying attention.

For those that still don't get it, the whole thing is a ridiculous advertising ploy by Sparkys which as some of you know has a reputation for selling lower priced lower quality knock offs of well known items...skythumper anyone?

hahaha thinner this, thinner that, if you get any thinner than Kale's antennas they will snap off.

Skythumpers are knockoffs of RK's - that's true; but theyare also outstanding in their own right as well. Exceeding the output and modualation of the well-accepted RK. A friend of mine just hooked one up in his mobile, and I can hear a difference. I think it is louder; but maybe not as clear as the RK. My opinion=2 cents...

Personally, I'm not really into this type of antenna - or any 'coily' design for that matter. There seems to be quite a few of them and it is confusing to know which is better and how their prices compare. I'm really quite content with my Wilson 1000 mag mount. But I am curious to know people are using this antenna design and paying the extra price - compared to the Wilson for starters. Is it doing something better? or - is it just making a status statement. Surely some of these guys running a coily-type antenna must have some comparative experience and can tell us what they see. Furthermore; can they justify the added cost compared to the price of Wilson 1000 that sells for ~$70?

Get a skythumper and a RK and hold one in each hand, tell me what you feel. Take both of them apart, tell me what you see. I've done it, the quality is NOT there on the skythumper. Do they have their place? yep Are they as well built? not unless something has changed in the last few months

Oh and as for the comments on the wilson vs the coil types I'll leave that to other people. I have one of Kale's antennas and it is excellent. I also have several wilsons and have no complaints about them either.

I just watched the video, haven't before. I can say that 'Mad Dog' is an enthusiast, good for him. I'm also glad he likes his new antenna. If he needs another one he can have the one being reserved for me, I seriously doubt if I'll ever need it. Or a '10K' for that matter.
'Mad Dog' sort of makes a few 'mistakes' in that vid', but then he's not a professional so that's okay. I think he had fun doing it so he'z ahead of the game.
I've never dealt with 'Sparky's so can't/won't comment on how he does 'bid-nezz', cuz I don't know. Lots of places I don't know about, big deal.
Lots of things I don't know about too! I do know enough about antennas that I seldom believe -any- advertisements about them. There are a few that I can honestly say that the manufacturer would have been hugely better off not having done them. There are also one or two that I tend to have a lot more faith in. That 'Truth in Advertising' thingy went out the window a long time ago! Not just about CB stuff.
Oh well, so what else is new? (NO, that isn't a 'dig' at anyone in particular.)
