Hi I have been trying to get my clarifier to go 5KC down and I did this mod:
deskAM1.jpg

The problem is that I cant get down to "380" without cranking CT4-5-6 all the way, I'm still 2-3 hz shy.
But when I want to go back to 385, the clarifier is maxed out and still cant get to 385.

Does anyone know how to get a bit more slide?

I did see a post here about adding 5 switches to get 5KC steps but I dont want to go though that extreme.
I have 40up on the PA switch, I just need the 5KC slide.

thanks.

The only thing I can find is " replace D-45, D-43 and D-41 with a (hard to find) Super Diode"

I also seen this mod that leaves D32 installed.

When I had a Madison (858 chassis) I put a 5.6 uH coil in series with the grounded end of each of the three varactors in the loop oscillators. I seem to remember it extending the slide range, but I don't remember how much.

Looking at a schematic for the TRC 449, you could try that at D41, D43, and D45.

You'll have to use 5.6uh chokes in line with the varicap diodes to achieve the extra slide, if the "Superslide" diodes are not available. TM86 is correct on this one. I have a mod somewhere (that's written down) the allows you to modify the PLL to get the half channels but I can't seem to find it. If I can find it, I'll post the notes here. For now, the 5.6uh choke method on the varicap diodes is a proven method that works.

This is not your PLL but I would venture to say IBCOMMS and unit_399 (who I think is on here as well) may be able to share some details). I just had this conversation with them on a different PLL. http://www.cbtricks.com/forum/index.php?topic=19359.msg146444#msg146444
