Heil Pro Set Elite is very nice.

It has the HC6 cartridge and high sensitivity head sets for low drive.

Your 590 should have audio at a back panel jack that will cut off when the head set is plugged in the front panel jack.

Patch back source to a favorite speaker or audio system.

Check your menu for route setting off the back panel jack.

Once you settle on a mike and head set look at EQing for best xmit and rx audio and save the file to a folder then down load to the user positions in the TX and RX menu settings..

You can also set up two different EQs for both and switch between them by using the A/B switch control on the front panel.

Another trick for those who are interested in AM mode.

Use the MCP to set up a favorite AM frequency.

Click on 'split' so you can program both TX and RX separately.

Set frequency the same in both RX and TX but set TX to AM and RX to SSB.

Save to folder then down load to radio.

Call up the memory channel and test that TX switched to AM and RX is SSB.

What you now have is full SSB filter usage as opposed to the more limited AM filter ranges. Then use your Hi cut to control high end DSP limits.

Any heterodyne is handled by using the RIT to off set zero beat it and B.C., M.B.C.  and auto notch.

You can freely switch upper or lower side band to get the farthest away from any interfering signal.

It sure can clean  up the RX when others can't hear very well with their wide receivers..

.

Next tip is to use the MCP to set up the 60m channels and down load to memory channels so they are there "with precision" every time you go there.

Good luck.
