Outer Banks NC
I'm on The Outer Banks of NC, great place to fish or vacation but a really tough area for radio repair. I have a Siltronix 1011 C. Would really like to get it up and operational again, but I don't have a clue on where I can get it fixed. Is there anyone, anywhere that still works on old tube sets ? I'm willing to send it off in hopes that I can find reliable tech. Thanks

About two or three years ago it would not power up. I had been using it about once a month or so. Seriously considering a Variac when I get it goin again. I don't perform quite as well as I did in the early 70's and quick power ups are impossible, need at least three or four cups to get goin' in the morning. So I guess old radio's are the same way. Start slow, finish strong. For years I had a 5/8 wave ground plane made by Taylor back in the 70's. Lost it to one of the hurricanes. Guess I' ll replace it with an I-10K, noticed the price jumped the other day.
