i think it would work


but how well remains to be seen.


the object on the lower right with a black ring around it acting like a plug into the existing so239.


the other two rings in the picture also screwing on to the existing so239- securing the center contact, then add antenna...remains to be seen how well per your experience.


if ham city is nearby i would stop by and ask to see the kit.

also if a gap is produced as suggested by doc, then make a seal and use silicone,don't want to short to ground in the rain.
