UNBELIEVABLE

I must have missed whatever the problem was but hey, do what you gotta do Mole & Hamer, thumbs up. I don't understand why someone would think the Forum or a Mod should get in the middle of a transaction or hold them responsible. Rediculous. The swapshop is a great section if people use common sense.

The problem is that common sense is not very common these days. Everyone is looking for someone else to blame these days and not willing to take responsibility for their own actions.Do you hold the editor of a news paper responsible for a deal gone bad that you made after reading the classified ads? We are all adults here,or at least are supposed to act like it,so work it out.

The Death of Common Sense

OBITUARY

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend
by the name of Common Sense
who has been with us for many years.

No one knows for sure how old he was
since his birth records were long ago lost
in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated
such value lessons as knowing when to come
in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and
that life isn't always fair.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies
don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting
strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge).

His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well
intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.
Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment
for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for
using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for
reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
It declined even further when schools were
required to get parental consent to administer aspirin
to a student; but, could not inform the parents when a
student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as
the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches
became businesses; and criminals received
better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a
woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of
coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap, and was
awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his
parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his
daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights
and Ima Whiner.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was
gone. If you still know him please tell others about his passing,
if not join the majority and do nothing.

It is a shame, as most of whats going on had nothing to do with swap shop transactions.

And maybe its the black list we should look at. Most of the people on it were not involved with swap shop transactions. But more like they used the site to get business and then did not live up to deals or transactions. Or repairs did not go like they should and so on.

Be it the internet or a shop you can get ripped just as easy. Then again the radio or repair you just got had trouble already or was exposed by work just done. Hire a plumber or let your wife take the car to get fixed, only shows that we should be very careful in what we spend money on.

And I would never travel across country over the loss of a few hundred dollars or so, but some of them dumb old cbers see the loss of a dollar accompanied by insults as a personal challenge. Glad I'm not selling wolf tickets.

If only men could act like men.......

It makes the forum look uglier :(

Throw that in a sticky in those forums.

What happened to cause it?

Thank you very much Hc714 ,I personally appreciated reading that. The Swap Shop has been very good to me over the years and I've personally thanked the Forum for that numorus times. Those of you who take the time to read through out this Forum can pretty much figure it out for themselves. I very seldom have ever seen any problems coming out of the Swapshop since I've been a member here. More so problems coming from else where.

Since some are too dense to make the association, let me make it a little more clear:

If you are performing a transaction via the forum with someone other than me, I am not involved so leave me out of it. If you want to report theft or feel that you have a situation that warrants a blacklist entry, feel free to contact me. However, I will not engage in hear-say or "he said; she said" disputes considering black list entries.

If you have questions that aren't easily answered by those statements, feel free to ask for clarification.

around here , folks do not have to learn the hard way as you put it for the most part . The Swap shop is truly not in question here even though it seems like it was attacked for no reason. I've been here for almost 2 years and I have yet to see more then 1 transaction that had went sour concerning the Swap Shop and it was taken care of , I'd say those were damned good odds along with some fairly trustworthy people around here. Feedback for the most part does not lie. These recent complaints have nothing to do with the Swapshop directly.
The rest have to do with some seriously hurt people . And there's absoulutely nothing funny about that. These are good people with good reputations and feedback from others over the months and years. Your posts have been very negative Aztech , and for the most part ,as far as the Swapshop is concerned , we are not foolish people and we have not had to learn the hard way. You have either chosen to be negative or your not reading threads through out the Forum . You are right about one thing , yes, folks have to learn the hard way from time to time , but the odds around here are is that it surely doesn't have anything to do with the Swapshop. And I think the members around here should be very proud about that. The good totally out weighs the bad. Happy New Year to you.

What happened to cause it?

Not me.

I never complained to anyone connected to running this forum, though some lowlifes cried about me to mods for telling the truth about their hero.

I would guess it was connected to the Justin fiascos, seeing how he was assosiated with the forum at one time.

Me, I've been content to expose him for the lying thief he is.

MOLEI I DONT UNDERSTAND CAN YOU PLEASE CLARIFY THIS ANOTHER STEP LMAO KIDDING. I dont understand why people are surprised when they get burned through internet deals. Its a huge gamble for all of us BUT, I have done ok because of whom I deal with and its our veteran members or people that have been here awhile and I have seeen deals carried out that were smoothe. I sit and wonder why would anyone rip another person off or send them garbage when they know its coming back anyways its simply waisting both parties involved time and money. Its like the morons that right usf (bad) checks now they spent money they didnt have knowing there broke and costing themselves more money they dont have OR KNOWING THAT ONE MILE DOWN THE ROAD SOMEONES HITTING YOU HEADON AN YOUR DYING. Why do it??? exspecially if you know whats gonna happen before ya do it?? And I agree the admins are not responsable for those of us with gambling problem placing odds on people we dont know. I have done real well as far as swap shop besides people wanting everything for nothing which you see everywhere that sells anything I have done good and was not rippedoff but again I watch who I deal with. It is not just forum swap shop but also in everyday life. Also if you make the deal and gamble on recieving what you were purchasing the admins were not
telling you to do it so why the he!! should they be in the end result??? The last year I seen more of this stuff happening and hope the new year has better results and people start thinking before doing. If some have there brains in there backside then stand up and take the preasure off your brain and think before acting. Its common sense and doesnt take alot of investigating to look at old sales and or posts to find a little aboutv whom your dealing with. Its hard for anyone to just automatically take sides whithout knowing the details and or facts so its a pretty much private transaction you choose to make. That goes with prices why argue IF YOU WANT IT BUY IT IF YA DONT DONT. Hopefully the new year gets off to a fresh start and stays that way for the most part.

Its a huge gamble for all of us BUT, I have done ok because of whom I deal with

THAT'S what makes it safer. I've done fine, except for once, and that was because I let my gaurd down. Overall, a person can do pretty well, lots of honest people here.

Even on QRZ, where they know your call, bad deals go down.

Can't go anywhere without rip-offs lurking. That's life.

I have seen bad deals and know it happens and not just herein our swap section I bought a TS-50 about 2 months ago off QRZ.COM and the guy was playing games because pay pal took 27 dollars of his money so he then took his time or a few extra days to send it when the original deal was Ipay that night then he ships next day. Well paypal made him mad so I had to wait nice hey?? Well I use ebay and have done great there aswell I have 100% feedback so I deal only with people with atleast close to equal feedback negatives to the percentage of feedbacks says it all.
