Got bored the other day and started digging deeper into offerup postings. Ran across a "full" set of Sams Photofacts for CB's for $80. It had been sitting there for months with no takers.

Contacted the guy and he still had them.

He doesn't have them now.

There's a few missing, I'll have to go through the four "Bankers Box" boxes to inventory them all. But still, a good deal as far as I'm concerned.

Saw what you posted.. If you run across a an ICOM 751 service manual, I need one. I know way off your post. However I really need one.

I had a complete set & threw most of them away because they took up so much room & nobody wanted to pay the shipping.I ran them on Craigslist for several months & nobody would come pick them up so I had no more space for them & away they went to the landfill.I have about a dozen or more for radios in my personal collection but no room for all of them.My neighbor gave another set away just before she passed away also because they took up so much space & she could fix most any radio without them anyway..Most of the information is available online these days so I did not see it as a loss.

Sorry to hear about the loss of reference material. Some day Sam's publishing will pulp what's left of their back stock, too.

And then the hobbyist will be well and truly f____d. (Yes, kids, it's a fill in the blank!)

I live in a metro area with about 4.8 million people, and this guy had his ad up for three months before I stumbled across it. In a disposable society, the interest just isn't there for this stuff and I may have saved it from a landfill. To me it's worth far more than what I paid, to you it's worth nothing. In both cases it's what the market would bear.

And I bought it knowing I'd probably be the last person to use any of the books, and I won't use most of them.

Now all I need is a bookshelf.

I had no space for storage and refused to pay shipping for others.I have my limit on what I will do and they were very heavy so I was not footing the shipping cost for anyone. Easy come easy go.

It was the right decision for you at the time. The market would bear $0, so you did the rational thing.

Not really seeing an issue here.
