where should I keep the pep swing, as not to over drive my amp. im so impressed with the modulation and swing on a stock Madison with a d104, it's easy to put the mic gain too high and possibly over drive the amp. I can leave the d104 up all the way along with the madisons mic gain up all the way and the audio reports are beyond excellent . What's a safe driving pep for a cb amp. The radio dead keys at 2 1/2 but can easily swing up to 13 on am. Is this to much and if so where should I keep the peaks at? It's between 5-10 pep ssb. Is that to much for the amp on ssb? If so where should I keep it for ssb? I can easily adjust the pep by the use of turning down the Madison's mic gain. Even when turning down the Mic gain as to get the wattage peaks to about 7 the audio reports are still excellent but im an audiophelliac (loud, clean and clear). I just don't want to fry the amp. I thought the amp took a dunmp, when my rig was dead keying st five pep up to 15. A 25 amp fuse blew out inside the amp. I got lucky. I might not be so lucky next time. Thanks
