Can't see it without signing up for a facebook account. If it's got a frequency counter then somebody swapped the clock out. For the older Madisons it's a popular mod when the original clock stops working.
This Uniden Madison is the rare version with digital clock , very clean in and out . Has been full restored with all new caps installed in the radio clock and power supply , ready to last another 30 years . Has extra channels on 3 switches underneath very neatly done , unlocked clarifier and is right on frequency in all modes . Would like to sell locally but will ship if buyer pays . Thanks
That looks like the later version Madison with the digital clock, inside is most likely the MB8719 PLL like the Cobra148/2000GTL use.
The earlier version had an analog clock on the front panel and a uPD858 PLL like the Cobra 138XLR/139XLR.
So, yeah, all Madisons had a clock from the factory. I guess they're saying it's rare because of the digital clock. No idea what the ratio of analog vs digital clocks is on Madisons. Anyone have a guess as to which years each was produced?
