I was using my Washington and noticed that it started showing no power out off and on. Finally it quit transmitting. Everything else is working fine. If I put the MOD button on it shows modulation just no power out. I tried 3 other mics and it does the same. Does this sound like a blown final ? It has the 1969 final in it.

I had the same prob, and if it is the same thing, then we will share it.
Otherwise everyone will think I lost it!
Lets share with the rest of the class

Got it working ! :) An electronics store nearby had the final and AM regulator. I tried the regulator 1st but the same. As soon as I dropped the final in she keyed up :) Now I'm a happy camper lol. Thanks for the help guys.

my washington is losing power

Hey ron, were the finals you say you got and put in your washington original finals. I want to replace mine as the power is fading and I want it original.

Thanks,
Roger

drivers and finals dont really "weaken" in that way usually.

they either blow open or short, or become thermally intermittent, like it will work when first keyed up, but drop out when it begins to heat.

your power fading is more likely caused by a cap going south.
