I contacted @Moleculo today, they had to Evac and leave but got to go back this afternoon.
His home is ok, no power no water.
It is like a war zone down there, fortunately he was prepared and has a generator and is ok for now.
His childhood neighborhood has been completely destroyed and so many people have nothing to go back to, no home nothing.
Only what they carried out during a Evacuation and trust me unless you have prepared in advance you don't even have time to think.
It's good that Tim is aware and was prepared.
I have been there.
One minute you are sitting at home watching TV when you hear a plane fly over real low and look out to see flames.
A sheriff pulls up and tells you that you have to grab what you can and leave.
Not 5 min, not ten, no, leave now and next thing you know there is a Bulldozer coming down the center of the road......
He asked me to let every one know he is Ok for now and and just say that every one should have some kind of plan for an emergency because you never know what might happen.

I have some neighbors that survived the fire in Paradise, CA a few years back. They told me the hardest thing to replace was the government documentation that proves you exist. So now we have a binder with that stuff in it placed where we can grab and go.

My wife keeps a tote now that has pink slips, birth certificates, Social security paper work, all important documents that we might need ready to go.
A small duffel bag with a few clothes.
We keep our meds in one place so that we can open the drawer, grab stuff and get.
Last year we had to go, I grabbed the cat, that tote, loaded up 2 of my neighbors and there animals, my wife grabbed the bag and meds and we bailed out.
It happens so fast you can hardly think.
It really pays to just sit down for a minute with your family and tell them to think about what they might need if they had to get out fast with little warning.
It can mean a lot in a situation like this....
