How do I setup the VX-8R for Satellite operations. I've been struggling trying to setup the split TX/RX frequencies on the radio. I thought I had it figured out, however I was only able to manipulate the uplink frequency in the same band group not outside of it (could only make changes in the 2M band, could not reach the 70cm or vice versa).

The more I fiddle with it the closer I get, but there has to be an easier way.

I just found it in the manual, page 48 odd splits. I will try this out tomorrow.

That's how I do it. You can use both the A & B VFO's but that doesn't work as well to quickly change the RX frequency while trying to TX on the other.

I programmed 5 sets of frequencies with the TX on 2m all the same and the RX frequency changing on each saved memory to handle the doppler shift. Don't forget the PL tones.

Let us know how you do.
