So i am wondering what is a good, reliable swr/watt meter to get? i hear many good things about both the dosy line and even the pdc-600 3 window meter, i mean of course i would love to have a lp-100a but thats a little out of my price range, lol, so any input or ideas?

Thanks,Dan

it depends on what you want to spend . ive got an astatic 700 that i like , but i like fiddling with antennas and i think im gonna get a cheap dual needle meter that doesnt need to do a set function everytime i check swr , it shows it on first key .

I agree with radio shack meters I use them in the mobiles and my kids use one on there amatuer bench setup for the hf use

I like the cross-needle meters. They can tell you quite a bit with just a glance. Most SWR/watt meters are accurate enough for the average person's normal use. I have particular brands that I think are just fine, not the 'big' names, but as long as the thing works right, I couldn't care less what name's on it.

I have both that meter and a Workman SX-144-430 which is the same meter in vhf/uhf flavor. For the price I have no complaints.
