Spent a lot of time in the shack today, and it seemed like 20 meters was pretty flat all day. Then as the grey line approached this evening an opening popped up between the east coast and Germany.
Got in a contact with Markus DL4RAN in Schorndof, it was a tough one with us both exchanging poor signal reports, but I heard him, and he heard me. I listened to him make a couple more east coast contacts before the opening faded.
Markus was also saying that they had a day time 10 meter opening to South America, and the Caribbean Islands, but couldn't raise any contacts in North America......
I guess with a predicted flatter than normal sunspot cycle, this is what we have to look forward to for a while......
