Welding with a CB linear

LOL this guy is cracking me up! how dangerous is this? how much power would it take to make arcs like that?

Do you think they designed those just for him?

Gee let me think for a moment.......NO!:p You know these type of builders. They like to say "Look at me! I can build a box that is practically indestructible and will operate into an infinite SWR!" but in actual fact anybody using one of those modules can do the same thing since the protection is built in to the module itself and not whatever the builder of the amp does with it.

The music sucks but the video is interesting.

jesus christ, I had rf burn from just a tx75 and it was bad....using a uninsulated knife to dig into the center lead at 1400w is just stupid as f**k

You aint seen nuttin' until you touched the wrong end of a lighting choke (not lightening) feeding tower lamps on a 10Kw station on 960KHz. with 110 % mod for a total of nearly 50Kw peak power. Working in that antenna hut you couldn't touch a damn thing without drawing an arc off your fingertips. Half the ground system was gone and it was all rocks everywhere. When you dropped a nut or a wrench you had to think whether it was worth it to try and pick it back up. LOL

lol, did anyone else notice static in background? It sounded to me like the switching supplies weren't matched up correctly and fighting each other. Anyone that has stacked a bunch of these will know what I'm talking about. I wonder if he actually built the boards himself or if he is using boards from Russia. I'm pretty sure I know the answer since it takes several months to build.

The video is made much more creepier by bbi's narration.
The way he laughs is creepy!!.
He sounds like some crazy mad scientist in a 1930's black n white movie.
You know the ones. All types of Tesla coils throwing bolts across the room while Bela Lugosi turns large knobs on a transmitter that was even old for the 1930's.
The most impressive part of this video clip seems to be how he freed his hands from the straitjacket he was in.
Show me an amp builder who act's like he does while playing with fire (literally) and I'll show you a nut.
I'll take a Texas Star 500 over one over one of bbi's 2000 (lol) watt amps any day of the week.
Even if bbi made a quality amp and legitimately produced 2000 +.
Why pay crazy money and wait seven months for something thats going to show less than of an sunit (on the other end) over a 500 watt Texas Star that I could purchase for under $500 and be using in less than a week. Madness absolute madness!!!

This guy is only copying the hijinks shown by one manufacturer of the extra-rugged LDMOS RF devices.
....

I thought the same thing, makes for good marketing though. The one thing that would concern me as far as buying from him is that he seems to have used a paying customers box in that first video, this kind of stuff should be reserved for test mules that will never be sold.

While I personally wouldn't pay the crazy money now either you have to keep in mind it's the crazy people who push the envelope that eventually lead to less crazy people developing more reasonable products, so while I have my concerns regarding this guys methods it is good to see the ldmos devices getting a little attention from the CB amp builders.

You ain't lying CK!! One hit frame some a 240vac 50A breaker that we supposed to be tagged and locked out, wasn't. What is more sad is the person I placed my trust into obviously didn't look very well at all the breakers. Yes it was left ON! Needless to say, one cut into one of the hot leads (120vac), and I was cursing and used about every curse word I know!!! Hurt guys feelings pretty bad, but not as bad as the way I felt!! It took my hand a week to feel right again!! I'll never trust anyone's word on whether a breaker is powered down now.
I physically make sure it's shut off and has had a lockout tag placed on it as well as messing voltage at the place I am going to cut!!!! No IF, ANDS, or BUTS!!!! No way, no how!! It hurts. And DC Voltage can be a nightmare as well!! Seen many am improper uninsulated tool used on a 24/48VDC 2500A power plant be used and melted!! Boy what a light show that will put on! Nothing like a good fireworks show early in the morning!! And to see the look on the guys face when his brand new ratchet is destroyed LOL!!
Some people just don't listen, and it takes them getting zapped or loosing a tool or 2 before they get the idea!!
I also know that the devices being spoken about have been around a while. Why no one uses them or has used them is due to the voltage and price in sure. That goes for CB stuff. There are LDMOS devices being used by a couple of amp builders for CB or 11m use, but they aren't posting any videos or bragging about anything to anyone about it, I can promise that much. ;) Those that know who I speak of, hats off to you for your hard work! (y)(y) One day we will see a properly made amp that uses these devices. Note I said a properly made amp!! Anyways to those buildings these amps, again, hats off! And I don't mean BBI Biggest Bullshiter in Idaho). Sorry couldn't help it!! :sneaky::LOL::ROFLMAO::whistle:.

222dbfl you are a card! Biggest Bullshitter in Idaho, I love it!
One thing I think is fishy is there is not one single oscilloscope showing what the wave forms look like before and after the amp and after the test. The sine wave might look like a square wave.
What good is 1200 watts if it is all trash?
