Planning on purchasing a new radio for the truck. Also gonna need a new antenna. Here is what im looking at..............
General Lee p&t "customcbradios" or dtb radio
Mirage mx86 p&t "customcbradios"
Mirage mx36 p&t "customcbradios or dtb"
used president hr2510......"roger bird tuned"

Antenna Sirio 5000 with a mag mount.

ssb is a great feature but at the same time i want clean loud audio.I like a echo feature so thats a must with talkback.Want something that can take mobile abuse and have a great receive.

I prefer having a rig with SSB, so I would pick the President... even though it's used. Roger Bird is supposed to do some good stuff with these rigs. You didn't mention the Omega Forge S45HP, which is in the price range of the rigs you are looking at. I own one, and really like it. Great on AM, great on SSB, plus has echo and talkback built in.

I have yet to try a Sirio 5000, but that will probably be my next purchase. I hear they are really good antennas.

Have fun picking!

That Sirio 5000 is supposed to be a pretty beefy antenna. I hear they work very well. Be careful what mag mount you use with that antenna. Be sure its going to enough grip to hold it. I have heard that some places sell the Sirio with a Wilson mag base, which isn't sufficient to hold the antenna at highway speeds. Im not saying that you were planning on using that mag base; just if you were, I wanted to give you a heads up.
I was going to try to buy a Sirio 5000 recently, but just didn't have the extra money to get it.
