The older Realistic mics ran a dynamic element that's about 600 ohms, roughly. If you put 2 mics on the radio and it doesn't modulate, could either be a problem with the radio itself (since you didn't mention if the radio modulates properly or not) or you got unlucky with 2 mics. The condenser element mics won't work on the older Navaho chassis. If you have a multimeter check for about 500-600 ohms across the mic element. If that's not present, the element is bad. Good luck!
