What Web Browser is Fastest for Windows in 2011? - Benchmarking JavaScript, Flash and HTML 5 Performance on Internet Browsers - Legit Reviews

"Final Thoughts and Conclusions:

We hope this testing helped you out and helped you learn or discover something you didn't know about web browsers before reading this. Our testing shows that in all of the benchmarks except for one that the fastest Microsoft Windows based browser is once again Google Chrome. Chrome 11 is the fastest public web browser and Chrome 12 is the fastest beta web browser that you can download today to use today. Firefox 5.0 beta 1 was also pretty darn fast and had very good test results across all benchmarks and compatibility tests that we ran. You really can't go wrong with either and as with everything it really depends on what you like. If you've never tried one of these browsers before we suggest downloading the one you've never tried and see if you like it.

Legit Bottom Line: After testing 15 browsers Google's Chrome 12.0 Beta proved to be the quickest for script heavy web sites"

Google is Skynet.

I am a Droid Borg

Resistance to Chrome is futile. :D

Like Robb said, been using Chrome ever since I started having problems with FF.
No problems or complaints.

My problem with the browsers other than FF is they do not have the add-ons that make my browsing experience streamlined.

Four add-ons I use and like:

WebMail Notifier
FireShot
Fox Tab
Adblock Plus

FoxTab - I had rather wait a second longer for a page to load than have to open Favorites/Bookmarks every time I want to go to a frequently visited website.

Webmail Notifier - why check email when you can see whether or not you've got mail and how many while you browse.

Adblock Plus - I find the default browser pop-up blockers are poor performers compared to Adblock Plus.

FireShot - capturing an image or the whole page and opening it up directly into my Photoshop (or editor of choice) makes for a seamless experience relative to posting and replying on the numerous forums I enjoy.

Because the others are faster is because of two things, I believe.

1. They are using the IE engine parasitically and are just IE lite, which makes them quicker.

2. They lack robustness, sort of like dating a skinny girl whose shoes slide back and forward on her feet every step she takes. No second date for me.

Furthermore, a browser that takes over what you can or can't do with it in terms of options just rankles me. I use FF. It's like the tax code, as bad as it is, it at least does leave a lot of room for those who want to get the best in tax relief. ;)

FF still works for me.
