well i agree with what has been already posted but to answer your question
checkout either palco electronics.com or copper.com
heres a list of good base units
galaxy 2547=basic 40 ch.cb nothing fancy but eaisly modifable
rci-2980wx=same as a standard 2980 but better has a 6 digit counter FINALLY
rci-2995dx =has it all ,but very expensive
these are my 3 favorites
