Actually Kenwood made the HTX-212 for Radio Shack. It is based on the Kenwood TM-221/231/241 series radio. I forget exactly which model but they are all similar. I remember a former co-worker showing me his "Kenwood HTX-212" or his "Radio Shack TM-221" whichever he called it. I paused for a moment and thought WTF are you talking about and then it hit me as soon as I saw the radio. :headbang

Icom made the HTX-202/404 handhelds for Radio Shack however.
