Which TRX... FT-857 or IC-7000 for mobile?

I habe both but using ic-7000 is for me terrible.

It sounds like your mind has already made the decision. You should see if Moleculo has done a review on the IC-7000, his reviews are a great help.

I only have the 857 and use it as a base radio mainly for psk-31 but it's size would be perfect for a mobile in cramped space but most mobiles have remote kits.

The most important thing for chosing a mobile- can you operate the controls while paying enough attention to the road to avoid anything

Yeah, to operate ft-857 is much easier... but many said "ic-7k is better , so in filters like also in technology"...

I have both TRXs and one must be gone...

It doesn't matter if one is "technically" better than the other if you can't stand using the "better" one. In your case, the 857 is better for you, so keep that one.
