I have been a long time DXer. I remember getting the BBC or Radio New Zealand on the shortwave and sometimes being able to hear them thru the swishy static. Finally my shortwave gave up and was unusable. So while I was searching for the next radio, I happened upon the Magicbox WiFi radio. It has more than 4000 stations from all over the world. No computer is necessary.
I spent a ton of money on an HD system a few months back and this $200 radio is more fun to play with. It works anywhere you have a WiFi connection. The station list is updated daily by a company called reciva out of the uk. http://www.reciva.com. There you can see all the stations available thru the Magicbox.
I tried for a couple months to get one shipped from the UK at 149 pounds (285 US) but finally a US company is selling them. And much cheaper then the UK retail Price. http://magicboxusa.com
I am not kidding, this is the best radio I ever bought.
