Will an antron 99 Roof Mounted get 41 Miles
On a Clear Day???
The reason I ask is I have a Flying Jays/Pilot in Sagniaw Michigan
and I live in Flint. I will mainly be talking to trucks
I don't have to many obsticles to get around RF Wise
Only blockage I see in between is possiby a tall hospital named Hurley

Or is this where a beam would be better at this range???
I guess Upper Side Band may be of use here too

it maybe possible. but theres nlo guareetee in range on any antenna. i will say
the imax 2000 with gpk would give ya better results than any a99.now ssb
WILL help however with ssb you will have to tune the signal in . not sure if ya want your
drivers doing this. its not hard i do it all the time in my mobile but its clearly something
to think about.range is also affected by dx condition local conditions. on ch 19
it would be very hard maybe even impossible to talk that distance with all other chatter
going on there.

Right Channel Radios says the Antron will go up to 50 miles in their Quick Overview
1.) How truthful should I believe this to be?
2.) How High of a Tower at a minimum would I need to acompplish this?
3.) Would Roof Mounted acompplish this?

My Goal is the Attached Thumbnails in First post 41.5 miles LOL

FRS bubble pack radios claim up to 56 Km range or about 34 miles. Manufacturers can say or claim whatever they want too. All they have to do is make it happen once under perfect conditions to justify their claim.

Will the Antron work out to 50 miles? Maybe. Maybe not. There are many variables that come into play. Power output. Antenna on the other end. Height of both antennas. Clearances around both antennas.Terrain elevation between stations. Local noise levels. Skip levels covering local signals.

I have seen two similar station setups have considerably different ranges. Why? Beats me but they did. You pay your money and take your chances.

Antenna on the other end. Height of both antennas.

I asked for a estimated Tower Height to Achive this in the OP
That was under #2 As I numbered my questions LOL
I'm guessing 60 Feet
with Antron at stock 4 watts using Old Midland 76-300 base station radio

Do I even have a chance on a clear day
or only if skip is rolling??????? LOL

if you can get a tower up at your location at 60 feet i would recommend
buying a sirio gain master much better than a99.the GM seems to really likes
height and to be alone in sky. if ya cant put up a antenna that high then look
at the sirio top one. they dont require alot of height to perform.either one of these
installs will work great.as for distance and skip its all conditions. some days ya may
talk skip all day others days you might not get out at all. thats how radio waves are
you cant control radio waves
