Wilson FGT-4 5/8 wave 4ft 1000 watt antenna


1) Its your vehicle, go for it. Just don't expect the "cophasing" to get you any noticeable gains over a single, centrally mounted antenna on a vehicle. A lot of vehicles that appear to have "cophased" antennas really don't, the second antenna is often only for looks.

2) I hope you don't think that those antennas are actually 5/8 wavelength antennas, that is something called "marketing", which has nothing to do with reality at CB frequencies. You could also call it snake oil...

3) When it comes to CB frequencies, my current (and long held) theory is that "cophasing" is a scam for antenna manufactures to sell you more antennas. The reason is to get any noticeable forward gain you need more distance between the antennas than a car or truck will ever have.
