Wire in an external PTT line to a CB radio

I sell a pc board with a relay that uses the radio's internal "transmit-only" switched voltage to activate the relay. It has two outputs. How many users have two amplifiers in line to key this way? Enough of them asked to get the feature added. The relay has enough current/voltage rating on the contacts to key whatever amplifier you have direct, no keying box needed.

And if you want to just roll your own, I can probably dig up the schematic for anyone interested.

I'm going to order this kit off you . I have a first gen 2970 , I take it the instructions ID the TX voltage point on the board to solder the one 'important' wire ? Thanks

This Jurassic web page shows that detail for the original 2970 pc board, but in the base radio model.

Should be the same main pc board as your radio.

Just one difference. The current version of the "Keyboard" uses an orange wire for the transmit-side voltage, not a green wire like the pics.

i'm running a SDR TX/RX switch with a Cobra 148 gtl dx and would be great to wire up the 3.5m ptt instead of relying on the rf sensing on it.

Makes me wonder if we should come up with a miniaturized version of the Keyboard. The 5-Amp power relay we use looks like a tight fit in that radio.

Was looking for more of an external solution outside of the radio to be honest like something similar to this

Coax question. I just put up a new Sirio monsoon base antenna with 100’ of rg8u coax testing with myMFJ antenna analyzer shows 1.4 swr at 26.965mhz and a 1.1 at 27.405 mhz . When I checked the ohms it’s steady a 30 ohms across the entire bandwidth.

Is 30 ohms worth worrying about in a 100’ run of rg8u ?
