I m curious if there a mount that goes from the 3/8 inch stud to a so-239 connector? I am looking at a multiband antenna for the wifes van and seen they make special mounts for the pl-259 equipped antenna to connect to but I have a few mag munts and if I could find a mount like I mentioned that would work but how strong would it be Ide have to wonder.

Yeah Tony there sure are. That is what I use on my truck. Is mounted to flat bar stock coming off the bed rail. Have had it on there for years and don't remember where I got it. Might have been a local independent Radio Shack that still carries a lot of CB stuff. Should be fairly common. Check CB sellers & ebay. I'll let you know if I see one somewhere.

Do you mean one of these

Ok what I have is the quad magnet mount setup. The question I have is its setup for antennas with 3/8 inch studs on the bottom to be used on it like firesticks predtor 10k compitition style antennas. I was looking at an 80-2 meter antenna for my wife and the one I found is like an outbacker remake and has the PL-259 style connection to mount it.

What Im asking is instead of purchasing the special mount from the antenna farm for around $80.00 after shipping...:scared: Is there a mount made that will connect to my 3/8 stud mount quad mag mount setup that would have the propper PL-259 connection on it to avoid buying another mount?

Ok this should help this is what Im looking at now

Odd thing happen tonight my wife and I drove to a friends house because he said he had a box of odds and ends parts resistors lightbulbs test leads connectors well I seen a mount and picked it out of the box it was one of those 3/8 inch stud spring loaded quick disconnects for antennas push turn twist well i put that back in the box and grabbed the next mount it was a few screwed together and I looked again and said wait I pulled them apart and low and behold there was just what I was asking about and needed its actually a so239 on one end and a 3/8 inch stud on the other so this will work it screws into the quad mag mount and you can run a wilson coil or this multiband ham antenna I am after.

I couldnt believe my eyes talk about luck!!! but now where the heck did this come from I would like a few more I actually got extra replacement studs aswell in that box of goodies along with a bunch of other stuff. This mount I needed and now have looks brand new. Anyone know where I can get more of these or who made them? like I said its a 3/8 inch stud at one end and a SO-239 standard female coax hookup at the other.

QRN I see the one you actually posted is what Im after but without the flat stock bracket I just want the SO-239 and 3/8 inch stud I just looked and this Bills 2way may have them.

All you had to do is go to the truckstop and buy one, every mirror mount style antenna uses that.
