It was a case of "The 3rd time's the charm" as this was my third attempt to get into the International Space Station as it passed over using my VX-8 HT and the handheld Arrow antenna. This was only a 25 degree pass and I wasn't very prepared for it (got caught up doing work around the house and almost forgot). I only had time to change the digipath and attach the antenna before it started the pass. I wanted to send a message, but I didn't have time to punch it in. Anyway, I successfully sent a position report through the space station! Check it out the ARISS page print screen for confirmation with me (AE6LX) on it  :thumbup1: :D

Since you know it works.....and I have yet to get it to work.
Could I get you to make a try using a standard HT antenna?

I am currently playing with a Diamond RHF40. I am not sure if I was just out of range today or ..... (could be both).

Sure, I'll give it a shot on the standard ducky. I have my doubts on whether it will make it there, but why not try, right?

I've tried a few times with my 2M mobile for the ISS simplex, but no luck. Not sure if no one was answering, or my polarization worked against me too much or if I was just a dweeb and not doing it in any sane fashion. I need to get out there with my HT and put some effort into it.

I've tried a couple of time also on FM voice attempting to raise the crew with no luck. My understanding with the ISS station is whether or not you get an answer will depend a lot on whether or not the crew has better things to do and what mode they left the radio in last.
