I had one for a while, decent rig with good receiver, the older 101ZDmkIII I replaced it with is much better though. Actually now that I think about it I had the 301d, the display didn't work but I had the external vfo and used that to tune.I have this radio does anyone know this radio....it was the first transistor radio series after tube.

As far as I know most parts are not available for it anymore so personally unless you want a special project I would just put it on the shelf..
You might try replacing the electrolytic filter capacitor/capacitors in the power supply. If the hum is everywhere, that's the first place I'd look just to see. You might not be able to get genuine OEM parts, but capacitors made today are lightyears ahead of the old components.
