Bought the FT-2900R on 2/5/2010
Modified as follows:
Remove the bottom cover of the radio.
Carefully unplug and remove the speaker.
Remove all 3 of the knobs from the front of the radio.
You will need a metric allen wrench to remove the 3 front panel screws.
Carefully pull the front face of the radio away from the body being careful not to disconnect the ribbon cable.
Look inside of the front cover for 3 pads (see picture)
Two of them are not solder jumpered and one is.
De-solder the only pad that is jumped with a solder bead.
Reassemble the radio.
While powering up the radio press and hold the
DW REV – A/N LOW – MW D/MR buttons simultaneously to perform a full reset. Confirm the reset when prompted by pushing MW D/MR.
