No, I put it in auto mode. Once you got memories built up it snaps a tune instantly.

I'm not using that configuration at the moment. I'm using an MFJ-993B. It has two power and tuning ranges. On 150 watt scale, it tunes 64:1. On 300, it's 32:1. I'm testing it out.
All you need to do is throw a 10 watt carrier and do a tune. Once your memories are built up, SSB peaks will instantly tune. Or, you can just throw a carrier and do it.

Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned |
