Wanting to get an answer about what these go on for my wife's friend. I'm in the crosshairs here. I'm supposed to be "all knowing".
Yep, some kind of collector. Yep, some kinda manifold.
Nope, I don't know exactly what they go on.
Do you?

Being that on each, there's one oval flange, one round on one end then a round on the other end makes it a unicorn for sure. The flange bolts are small so that's evidence that it wasn't made to sustain high pressure, so maybe vapor or smoke. Exhaust of some sort. In your area or wherever they came from, what kind of common industry is there? That might give a clue...

Probably a custom manufactured one of a kind part, not very common at least.

I'd say it's an exhaust or vent of some sort.

What metal?
Evidence of being hand-formed work (final step finish)?
Fastener holes don’t appear type associated with high-strength bond.
Gasket which fills voids by expansion (heat)?
19th century?
Low pressure air?

Coffeyville refinery, koch nitrogen in that area I know because I've worked at both amongst whatever else is near that area. Looks like those parts could fit into older parts of those facilities in past days
hey hey i used to haul fuel out of coffeyville in 1978. so called punishment for not doing the preacher dispatchers way.haha joke on him ,they loaded me n elsewhere i had to load myself. mid america refinery and agusta n gas kansas you load yourself same as springfield n miller mo. cant remember if sunoco in tulsa loaded us

Those look to be for school desks that were bolted to the floor. The seat would be facing to the left while the desk was attached to the higher portion of the stand facing the child behind.
The screw holes and pattern suggest that this was a structural bracket rather than anything that would contain a gas or liquid inside. One flange even looks like it had an extra hole drilled, to replace a screw that pulled out. Wood screws holding a desk and seat, would fit well here. Your idea seems to be the best one so far.
