    License Grant timeline - 1 week flat. My application was sent in by the ARRL-VEC team on Saturday, and my callsign showed-up in the database on Friday after midnight. This was a completely new grant, not an update. Hopefully this timeline example assists y'all.

    zero to general... congrats, sonwatcher. sat for both the tech and general exams today, first-time-go on both. now, the wait for a call sign to be posted...then i'll be placing an order. i should be on in a couple weeks or so, and hope to get the opportunity to chat with some of y'all.

    in the market for... i'm looking at IC-706 MKIIG for the mobile immediately, and an IC-7000 as soon as I can swing it. I've heard some mixed reviews on the -706MKIIG, though...it might end up being a temporary for the mobile. anyone have a word on that particular topic? as for antennas...
