hey what would you recommend for a good dead key wattage for this radio?

pot VR107 is the main one VR103 is the fine adjustment, hook her up to a watt meter and bring her down to what you want it, im running mine barefoot so im going to be bumping mine up to 15w unless its higher then i will bring it back down, and run a 15w max dead key and see how she handles it,

atleast in my area, i find cb radios all the time at goodwill. its just an idea, but i payed 3$ for a HR2510, and 5$ for a midland 77-888, 5$ for a cobra 19 like you said. my HR2510 was the problem child of the group, needed 2 caps replaced, but i picked up a uniden 520XL(1.50$) and its finals...

by the way i got my HR2510 working tonight with new caps, so my wattage is now 10watt 10m ham setup with cb channels, so i might get better range/ usage for my area.

Update, FIXED the radio, rogerbird told me to replace C95 and C97 i did so and she runs great both 16V caps cleaned up after-words and she has audio and stays cool worked solid for 20 mins and stayed cool to the touch. thanks everyone/rogerbird

haha should be doing homework right now, but i just unsoldered a TDA1905 IC chip from my donor radio for my HR2510

the TDA1905 burned out i take it on my HR2510 but i have another TDA1905 from another donor parts radio. i might replace the audio chip and see if that does it. well have someone who knows how to do it, i just pulled the exact donor chip from another radio. but that chip GETS HOT, thats a sign...

also heres what i saw in another forum (HR2510 troubles) heres mine and what someone did to it. IF you see the brown wire is soldered into the IC103 chip and is caried back to a resistor and some black 2 pin thing another resistor and is soldered to another pin. i do not know what this is used...

ok, update. little more info i took off the panels again and ran it today using my hand to scene heat, IC103 has a big metal shield on it and the metal shield gets hot after a few mins and right when it gets too hot to touch the radios audio powers off. the radio remains active, full RF...

i couldnt find the base mount for it and it doesnt have the whip right now, but i could always look up the length and cut or buy another whip for it, and locate a base mount that will work for it, question now is how great of an base mount was this? being its base loaded, it seriously looked...
