It was a dual antenna. I run a single stand alone system. My own cable, cb and antenna. That way I can pull it out anytime I want. Coaxel is a 18ft btw.
also been testing it distance radio checks.
I get out 25 miles to the right of me and left of me. About 15 in front and about 8 behind me...
he is using factory dual antennas that came on the truck, no adjustable ones.
thanks for all the advice. Im going to the radio store either today or tomorrow if I get a chance if not I will get a k5 or something that catches my eye at the truck stop and see how it does.
btw my ONE antenna is hooked on passenger side mirror. cb shop hooked it up properly. 1-2 swr when dialed in on the channel I'm using. everyone says I am very clear and powerful. but I want more! LOL
I hooked it up to the factory cable that runs dual antennas off the mirrors on my Columbia...

I am happy with the cobra I have. It works very well compared to others. But it only gets out about 4 miles in the hills and 7miles on flat land. I want more power.
So I was thinking....here goes.....what if I put a base station radio in my truck and run that?
