Modulator is for AM only and Compressor is for both. Do an internet search for --> TGT Modulator you will get some pics and stuff....

I found this old Kraco SSB with crystals and was wondering if these crystals can be found anywhere or is this better just thrown away? It works except for channels that are related to the 14.917, and 23.530 crystals in it, I assume it took a hit from a close by radio with power? Or do these...

Maybe the mode switch is going bad or dirty, Frequency switch will do weird stuff when it goes bad skips frequencys, channels...

I Wish the coax was replaceable, seems with the K40 you have to buy the whole assembly, or splice the cable and that cant be good. Woud be nice to put a nice piece of cable on it.

you may need to lower your mike gain / modulation if you can adjust it, it will lower the swing, maybe you are swinging to much.

So the ERF2030 would be your best choice for compatibility and reliability??

The CB20W's seem to average Around $10 each w/ shipping. Ive seen lower in the past. The ERF2030's average around $5 each w/ shipping.

I see CB20W workman finals on ebay alot also, they are supposedly 2sc1969 compatible. Like Bushwacker said ERF2030's are good for modulators, lots of swing.

I run a northpoint nt-4 and it is holding up fine through 2 winters w/ good reports, I chose it over the magnum due to price... It has the same board in it as the SR440hp stryker. Stryker was not out when i bought it, but i have been checking them out for a future 2nd mobile.
